Minutes for the Nov. 14 Library Building Needs Committee
members present: MaryPaul Yates, chair;~ Karen Klopfer, library consultant; Susan Gallant, secretary; Mark Makuc, library director; Dennis Lynch; and Walter Ritter
The meeting began with a review of the Nov. 8 forum to which the public was invited to offer their suggestions on what improvements they would like made in the library. All agreed the forum was well attended, with upwards of 50 people offering their views on the kind of library they’d like to see in Monterey. Some of the most frequently offered suggestions included a bathroom on the main floor, additional computers, and better handicap access.
Based on the suggestions from the forum, Karen and Mark put together a preliminary survey to be uploaded to Survey Monkey after the committee reviewed the survey questions. The remainder of the meeting was spent reviewing each question in detail.
